    High Pitch Noise

Brand new 2014 2.0t AWD base, got about 750 miles on it. There is a high pitch noise that comes on intermittently, seems to be coming from the dash or even further within.

Turning off the fans kills the noise. Adjusting the throttle position/fan speed also will make it stop for a while.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm hoping it's just a fan bearing or something that needs to be broken in a little bit, but I'm also worried it could be an intake leak.

Anyone else have this problem? I hate to bring this to the dealer and waste my time telling me there is nothing wrong with it, I'm 22 with good hearing so they might not even hear such a high pitch whine.

    Hello btmasta,

Congratulations on your recent purchase of your ATS! I apologize that you are hearing an intermittent noise coming from your dash. I know how frustrating issues can be on new vehicles. I do see that you are reaching out to the community for any other members experiencing these concerns. Please let me know if you do plan on taking your vehicle into a dealership and I would be more than happy to assist you in setting up an appointment and working with the dealership regarding this concern. You can reach out to me via private message or by email at socialmedia@gm.com with “ATTN GREG” in the subject line. I will definitely be on the lookout for your future updates.
