Dimming LED DRL when headlights on?

I'd like to have LED DRLs installed. Also I'd like them to dim when the headlights are on. Is this possible with the Luxury model; and if so, how? I plan to turn the headlights off during the daytime and thus negate the headlight automatic DRL function.

Re: Dimming LED DRL when headlights on?

Found these LRD DRLs that not only dim at night, but also blink yellow on turns...http://www.carid.com/universal-headl...-10791032.html. However, they are 800-900 lumens, each duriing the day and about 400 lumens when dimmed at night. BTW, during the day. I plan to turn off my headlights so they don't act as DRLs. I'm thinking that this would be way too bright during the day. And, as I still have halogen headlights, the 400 lumens at night would probably be a bad contrast with the halogens. What do you guys think?

Can't have that. Whatever DRLs I get, I will have them custom installed. Do you think that they will still stick out?

well if you have them cut the plastic then probably not but if they smack them on top pretty sure they will bulge out.

I'm fairly certain that they will cut the plastic to recess the DRLs...custom, ya' know.

It doesn't sound like a lot when spread out. I don't know about when focused. I know when we switched over to all LED in the home we put in 6000 lumens total in the kitchen not counting task lighting.

Re: Dimming LED DRL when headlights on?

That's 800 lumen on each LED. The DOT specification for LED DRLs is no more than 400 lumens. I don't mind the legality of it all, but do mind that the DRLs may look ridiculously bright. The other set of LED DRLs (Eurolight 1065-smoked lens so when off, they don't "bug-out") I'm considering put out 130 lumens each and here I'm wondering if they will be bright enough. Actually, they probably will be (or should be) bright enough during the day as they are called accent DRLs and I take this to mean that they may not be as bright as others, but they should do the job of DRLs??? BTW, these lights were suggested by the custom shop that will do the job and I assume they should know what they are doing.
