Exclamation Musty odor at start up and rough idle

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.
Just wanted to say that I love my new 2013 Ats 3.6 awd performance model.
I first got my car the middle of July this year. I've noticed a real musty smell upon Initial start up in the morning, and after sitting for a while. The dealership said They could not duplicate the problem, but did check for any blockages with the A/C evaporator and drain.
It still smells and makes me wonder what it could be.
I also have a very noticeable rough idle when starting up after sitting for a few
Hours. The dealer is unable to help me in determining if or what the problem could be, or if there is a TSB or fix available. I'm very disappointed with the inability to
Troubleshoot the problem. I'm in the car business and I know what I feel and smell, and there is a problem somewhere. Anyone have any advice I could use?

    Thanks,

    All are known issues.

Turn the AC compressor off a minute before you reach your destination, but leave the fan on to blow out the moist air. If the moist air remains in your duct work, it will form condensation in your ducts, and drain down somewhere and pool. The AC drain needs modification. It seems as if GM is working on a fix. In the meantime, use the work-around given above.

Rough idles happen to some people, but not all. Apparently there is a code update to fix most peoples' rough idle. Look through the threads to find the number of the code update (or maybe someone who knows will post it here for you). I have a 2014, and apparently they had already updated the software on mine before a I got it (higher idle RPMs, I think).

went for an oil change today and they had a TSB 13234 which is due to rough idle. I have a 2.0 Turbo so i dont know if this applies to the 3.6.

Musty a/c smell, rough idle, creaky drivers seat....all common issues, I feel like I've read 100 posts on these very same issues. My car has all of them and while at first it bothered me, but after 8 months, I've learned to live with them because I've heard there's no fix for any of them yet. It sucks because you want a 40-50k car to be perfect, but then you realize that EVERY car has some problems. I guess having a lease alleviates some of the issues because it's not actually your car and can be returned in a couple years.

    Hello Trundle923,

Welcome to the forum! I am sorry to hear that the dealership wasn’t able to duplicate these concerns or provide you with a solution to these problems you are experiencing with your ATS. Could you private message me your name, contact info, VIN, mileage, and dealership you have been working with so I can look further into this situation? If you are unable to private message me, you can also reach out to me via email at socialmedia@gm.com with “ATTN GREG” in the subject line so that it gets delivered straight to me. Thank you very much for your time.

Theres a guy with a black ATS on here who has his entire car gutted with the dealership trying to find the problem. Been months, engireers have diagnosed it with drainage problems. Good luck. Have you had FM radio issues too? All common problems that have been together
