That may well be but is not the case in the AWD version at least not in the one I have. Only TC and/or Stabiltrak off by holding down the button as mentioned above.

It is my thoughts that competition mode only exists on cars with MRC.. That or definitely only RWD, with certain trims.

    I have a 2.0T AT RWD Luxury.

No evidence of 'Competition Mode' in my car. Unless I'm doing it wrong.

STABILITRAK COMPETITIVE MODE displays in the Driver Information Center (DIC). While in the StabiliTrak Competitive Mode,
the StabiliTrak Off light comes on, TCS does not limit wheel spin, and more effort is required to turn the
steering wheel. Adjust your driving accordingly.

Press the TCS/StabiliTrak button again, or turn the ignition to
ACC/ACCESSORY and restart the vehicle, to turn TCS back on and turn the TCS/StabiliTrak warning light off.

That would be interesting since AWD is not a limiting factor with the CTS. My CTS is AWD.

    Re: Competition Mode ???

OK just played with a Premium, a couple of things then what i found

    1) the sport seat is NICE!!!!! i like the extra bolstering and the added front seat bottom tilt and seat bottom extender vs my turbo standard

    2) MUCH LUST for Morelo red interior WOW!!! i like the black headliner as opposed to my grey and Love the carbon fiber trim

what i found was it does indeed have a competitive mode, but getting to it was interesting I first tried TC button my car all different way long hold short hold tapping nothing but TC on/off and stabilitrac off.

in the premium i had the same results and almost wrote it off as not having it then I had an idea i put it in sport mode and BOOM multiple taps gives you competitive mode. I excitedly went back to my car to try it and nothing, seems competitve mode is tied to Magnetic ride. i went back to the premium and tried several more times to confirm with and without sport mode on, and compettitive mode would only appear in sport mode

On my ride home I confirmed that yes, it needs to be in sport mode also in order to get the competitive mode activated.
So then is the consensus you must have MRC (so then premium, RWD only), however both manual and auto transmissions have the option?

I was able to get the competitive mode without being in sport mode. Just tapped the mode button twice.

Your comment concerning having MRC possibly explains why some trims have this feature and others apparently do not. The method you are using sounds exactly like on the CTS-V and I was wondering if you also get a message on the DIC saying you are in competition mode?
