The Germans would have had me a loaner and kept this until it was corrected, common; I know you can do better GM!
Dealers are independent businesses. GM can not MAKE them fix a car, just apply the punishments/rewards in the contracts. Based on the signs I've seen, Cadillac Customer Services will probably get you taken care of, even if it takes them a while to follow their protocols.

In the mean time, it is worth your while to post the names of the dealers. They don't care about you (after the sale) but they care about the word getting out and cutting into business. And not just here but in the Dealership Review section of the forums.

And take the car to another dealer even if you have to drive to the next town. You probably don't want those clowns working on your car anyway. Its been my experience of 40+ years of new car buying that the single most likely cause of this kind of behavior is sloppy work and bad decisions that gets warranty claims kicked back to them. And rather than fix themselves, they stop doing anything that isn't completely mundane.

This message is for Gregory W., Cadillac Customer Care. Seems I am not allowed to directly respond to your private message because my one message I ever sent now exceeds my message quota (???). Please respond here to what we are all experiencing. I just spent $50K+ on a vehicle that has an acknowledged problem that no one seems to want to resolve.

FYI: you can delete old messages (or upgrade membership for a higher limit).

Are you kidding about a loose seat being a problem we ALL have? And it sounds like you received a private message from Customer Service and still say nobody wants to resolve the problem. What exactly did they say in the PM about not wanting to solve the problem? Also, what dealer are you talking about?

Hi Hoosier. I appreciate your unsolicited advice/input. By all, I meant all experiencing loose seats...am sure others realize that.

    You are more than welcome.

What did Customer Service say in the PM that indicated they didn't want to help?

What dealer diagnosed the defective seat and refused to repair it?

    "Hello Ron,

I am sorry you are not satisfied with Cadillac. I understand how you are disappointed in the brand and frustrated with your seat. After discussing this concern with the dealership, unfortunately at this point, there is nothing I can do to further assist. I have documented your sentiments and if there are ever other issues or concerns you would like to discuss, please reach out to us. "

Is that a PM from Cadillac Customer Services in these forums? It sounds like it but want to be sure. Did Customer Services send someone from district to look at your car? If not, I would call Customer Services and ask for that. The forum reps aren't the last resort.

    Hello Cherasadad,

I apologize that I have just now saw your post in this thread of your update. I was waiting on another private message from you and did not see the thread. Since you are not able to send me your information through this website, could you email me your name, VIN, mileage, contact info, address, and dealership you have taken your vehicle to socialmedia@gm.com? Please make sure the subject line has “ATTN GREG” in it so it is delivered to me. I will be out of the office until Tuesday, so I will call to speak to the dealership Tuesday after I receive your information. Thank you for responding and I look forward to reaching back out to you on Tuesday afternoon.

We don't have the full context, so it's POSSIBLE that is an appropriate response. In your case, the dealer has confirmed there is a problem and even what parts are involved. For another poster a loose seat problem was fixed. In Ron's case we haven't read about any confirmation. My point about the context is, for example, if there was an in between exchange that involved an engineer from Cadillac personally inspecting his car and saying its okay, then that PM would be acceptable. I'm not saying Ron isn't getting a runaround, just that it's not proven by that PM looked at in a vacuum.

Ron, now that you know what was wrong with Cherasdad's seat, do you think you could personally check to see if your seat has the same issue with the adjusting gears?

    Re: Loose drivers seat

My loose drivers seat is getting worse, not better or the same. Now it creeks up and down (going over bumps) and not just side to side. And, even the side to side motion is more pronounced. I can't wait for the next oil change. It's going in this coming week. I'll update you all.

I have the exact same problem in both front seats. Apart from feeling the movement, now there is a pronounced clicking noise from both seats. Likely this has something to do with the various motorized seat adjustments and will be difficult to repair.

Well then, if they can't repair it then I would expect the seat to be replaced. I'll let y'all know how this plays out.

I will make sure to bring this issue up as well as the paint protection application i purchased when i bought the car not preventing stains to the paint. Still love the car but I could have saved some money on the zylon or whatever it is called.
Just within the last few days having same issue. Slight movement back and forth when making turns. Funny thing is the Malibu I just traded in did the same thing! Also got the paint protection for really cheap but I don't like it. Something about leaves really bad water spots all the time. Like white looking spots (blue paint) that don't seem to come off very easily. I don't know if maybe they didn't apply the protection correctly?

    Re: Loose drivers seat

Did you ask the Chevy dealer to try and fix the seat issue in the Malibu?
