    Re: Trembling at idle

Question would a cadillac service department respond to my request to upping my rpm at idle 50 more or do they need permission from headquarters.just to see if it stops the shaking at stop lites etc? Feedback please thanks

They probably can't do it even if they want. These are drive by wire. I'm pretty sure the RPM is a target for the tune. The tunes are created by Cadillac.

If your car is still running too rough its probably a different problem. Not that upping the RPM might not make you happy but it would be masking the actual problem. Remember your car idled just fine when new even with the lower RPM.

Hoosier thanks darn we are so close to the fix.before the applied ECM on Tuesday the idle in park was rough since ECM applied idles fine in park but not in drive with brake on so that's why I asked for another 50 rpm move.also since the motor mounts are driven by vacuum

    Re: Trembling at idle

For the record, I have the 3.6 and I have the tremble at idle. It was one of the first things I noticed about the car. It clearly is a low idle issue and I find it ridiculous that it is taking this long for Cadillac to acknowledge it.

    Re: Trembling at idle

This whole thread is so disappointing to read. I've had my car for four months and all car payments made were when I had loaners. My car is experiencing terrible stalling issues. It's been in 6 times in just under 4 months. My dealership wants to help me get into a new one but can't until GM gives them the green light. GM is insisting I have a data recorder installed. I have an appt tomorrow to get it done. This morning on my way to work it stalled twice. Once again I found myself stalled out in the middle of a busy intersection. I feel so unsafe in this car. Last week it was shaking so bad I pulled over on the side of the freeway and just cried. I thought for sure it was going to stall but it didn't that time. It's such a shame, we are a GM family and I'm just shocked at the customer service. Paying all this money every month for a car most of my family and friends won't drive in. I'm petrified to drive it long distances. It shakes constantly. Radios been replaced twice, vents stopped working, lights constantly flash, I can go on and on. Even with a data recorder I AM STILL THE ONE AT RISK driving this thing. I want to have faith in GM but I don't like the way this is going. I can't even count how many times I've been late to work, sat at the dealership and HOURS on phone with cadillac and GM. Thanks or letting me vent. I better get to bed, gotta get up early to make it back to the dealership before work. Soooo tired of it.

That's terrible. Can they drive it around with the data recorder instead of you?

What a shame. I can't understand why GM would not buy it back from you and give it to the R&D guys in Michigan to learn what went wrong. Also, it only makes sense from a long-term customer relationship to want to keep repeat customers.

    Re: Trembling at idle

Sorry to hear ATSGIRL but I been in this since April 16 2013.i don't understand this either why Gm just owns up to our concerns and buy these back.i know why just being stupid but this really ticks me that no recall and or buy back .i had to put this in a someone else's GM forced my hand now and still no resolution and its August.obviously safety must not be a issue because GM hasn't come thru for me since April O and that magic ECM engine software fix NOT.so what's next anybody's guess but I hope we can be successful with gm

    Hello ATSGIRL,

I know you and many other forum members have shared their vehicle issue with trembling at idle. We do care for the safety of our customers and I am sorry you feel unsafe while driving and are very unhappy with your vehicle currently. I see you are going to the dealership for them to install a data recorder to monitor your vehicle. Do you have a case file and are you working with a GM agent on your vehicle issues? If so, please reach out to us via private message and include your case number, or I will ask for other information so I can stay involved throughout this process.

    Sincerely,

    Laura M.

Nothing should make a woman pull her car over and cry. That pisses me off so much and my heart goes out to you!

    Thanks Bravnik, I agree.

Laura - If I thought you could help me I would love to speak with you. Yes, I have a case file and have been working with a "district specialist" - not sure if thats the same as the "GM agent" you referenced. Just made my 4th car payment and once again I am not in posession of the car. Spent HOURS on the phone with GM, they just keep telling me to get the data recorder installed, "thats all we can do for you at this time". Meanwhile I'm stalling out all over metro Detroit. I am afraid I am going to get hurt. I want out of this lease immediately. I guess I need to keep following the steps until someone can help me. Today for the first time in the 7 times its been in for service I was given an ATS as a loaner. I knew right away my car was junk - this car is amazing to drive, smooth as silk, no shaking and feels SAFE. Why couldnt that have happened to me the first time I shelled out all of this money for a new car sitting on the side of the freeway? Heartbreaking.....

Back to what Hoosier recommended. Please ask them to let you keep the loaner while they drive your car around with the recorder. Your circumstances are extreme and you should not be assuming the risk. I would think GM legal if they were aware of this they would be concerned because God forbid if anything happened to you.....
