    The Retrofit Source

    what do you think?
I've used them for 3 complete headlight HID projector retrofits into cars that didn't have projectors or HIDs originally. (01 monte carlo ss 02 deville dts 03 jetta 1.8t) I've not tried their LED lineup but if you head over to the forums at HIDPlanet.com you will find all sorts of info and help usually. I've found their prices to be fair and quality to be better than most.

Doesn't really look that bad, but unfortunately, IMO, it also does look a bit ricey. BTW, I do like romanats' brake duct LEDs...they are the best so far, but I think there will be better ones to come. With 22K views of this thread (and there probably are many, many more out there that want these kinds of mods but aren't forum members,) I'm thinking that manufactures should be getting on the stick to produce some real good copies of ATS stock LEDs. So, I'm going to wait a while to see what else comes to the table before jumping into the LED mod. Bought this car and will be into it for a while, so I can afford to wait...

I think somebody posted about doing it. If I remember right they ended up with some pretty insignificant differences in how they operated. It's very expensive though because the units include the aiming mechanisms for the adaptive headlights which nobody knows a way to make work with a car that didn't come with them. It's not practical, but it could be cheaper to sell a Luxury without LEDs and buy a used Performance with the same power-train and color.

i keep having mixed feelings about them. first of all, the pictures originaly posted are nice. it does not look like that in person. in person u can see the individual LEDs more clearly. so it looks like xmas lights. but it doesnt look bad necessarily. i got my friends to look at them too and they are also confused. nobody can say they like it or dont like it. ill take pictures soon. theyre wired to the corner fender light just liket he original guy did it. they come on with the headlights, or parking lights. NOT during DRL. the reason i wired it that way is because i when i put them on, i was worried about how embarrassing it would look so i wanted to have a way of driving with DRL without them on lol. plus, wiring them to the headlight wires was gonna be alot harder and idk how it would run with the dim and bright settings since the headlights serve as both DRL and normal headlights.

the DRL doesn't dim the lights the twilight sentry (the domed sensor in the center channel speaker grill) does. you can mess with it at night with a flashlight and watch your lighting go up and down.

Ah ok. Just trying to think of a way to add a relay to the correct wire to activate just the LEDs as the DRL.

you can get DRL relays/harness' that do just this ....a good example of the installation of this is below:
