I get the pin stripe removal, but why take off the badge? Love that color btw.

There isn't anything artistic about the letters. The wreath and crest have some beauty. But alphabet soup? Nothing wrong with keeping them if you like them but I completely understand why some wouldn't.

They are fairly easy to remove. They are just "glued" on. Take some fishing line and pull it thru behind the letters. Then clean up the glue with a paint safe solvent. You could glue them back on later but it would be tricky to get them aligned exactly the same as from the factory. I haven't leased since '93 but ask around to see if anyone would have a problem if they were gone.

    Congratulations on the new car!

I think you bought the ATS from Sewell of Dallas, right? They seemed to be very good people. I almost bought a CTS-V1 from them!

Re: Debadged and pinstripe removed on the ATS

Actually got it through my "car guy" from Sewell of Houston, But taking it in for service has been the best experience I have had
I've never cared for lettering on cars, makes them harder to wash and wax, plus I don't need people knowing what I am driving. They are just held on with double sided tape, I take a small screwdriver, and slowly pry on the lettering. Sometime you can do it with just your fingers. Just make sure to not touch the paint with anything hard.
I'm actually leasing the car too, but my car guy said they probably wouldn't notice, if they did, just hold onto the letters. Which I have
Ive done the same thing on my truck, just went a bit further

Be carefull with prying. If you pull up too hard on one end it will dent the sheetmetal at the opposite end of the piece. And sheetmetal is getting thinner and thinner to save weight.

definitely, You have to go slow and gentle, I find prying a bit and just leave constant pressure on one area, it causes the tape to release in that area then the rest follows, Once that happens you can use your fingers

Or use fishing line to cut/saw thru the tape/glue and not pull on the badge at all.

Very nice! It looks much better without the striping, and looks sleek with no badging!

Most of the time the emblems (or lack thereof) wont even be noticed at lease turn in.

Negative, the pin stripe is a dealer applied option, it's just a decal/sticker and peels off pretty easily without leaving much if any residue...but you'd be wise to detail afterward anyway.
