    245/45 r17

Thought I'd share some pics going from the OEM Michelin Primacy Run Flats 225/45 R17 to a set of Nitto Nt555 245/45 R17...

I do get a very slight rub at full lock...I might go with a set of 235/45 R17's next...The pics don't show how much beefier the car looks from the rear...And, obviously, the dry pavement grip is a million times better than the stock tires...

The tires are mounted on the wheels in all the pics...

I have those tires in size 265/40/20 from my old 7 series. They are really nice tires. Really sticky.Should ride real nice.

    Re: 245/45 r17

I was thinking of installing 245/45/17 on the stock wheels as well. Has anyone tried this tire/rim combo with the Eibach springs yet.?? I don't mind a little rub on the inside of the tire at full lock but DO NOT want any fender lip contact at all. Any thoughts?

Why not keep the 245 width, but drop to 40 or 35 profile?

That's what I'd think. That has to be a taller diameter tire than stock.

Nope. 245/35 18 would actually be slightly smaller... 0.22" than the stock 225/45 17. Changing to a smaller profile while going wider is pretty common. I'd rather have the extra contact patch, personally. 245 is awesome.
