Re: Please post your aftermarket wheels on your ATS

Another ATS First - I beleive i have the first set of Niche Essens...Anyway...heres the goods

    2013 ATS 2.0 T
    Eibach Sport Springs kit
    Niche Essens
    Front 19x8.5 235/35/19
    Rear 19x10 265/30/19
Offset i believe is 40 - or somewhere thereabouts - I was able to run my fingers around the entire backside of the rim/tire, there's still a good INCH back there. I would have preferred more meat on the rears but didn't want to chance the rub. Now i know. Next set, 275's or maybe even 285's.
Bolt pattern is the dreaded 5x114.3: All lugs meticulously torqued to an ever 100 ft-lbs per manual specs
1st test drive was flawless, albeit in the rain, it was great.
Ride harshness: I'd say its about as harsh as the 17" Michelin RF's or just ever so slightly harsher. Not bad AT ALL

So enough with the chit-chat... onto the good stuff!!!

Looks pretty Damn good, Classy look yet sporty to fit the athletic ATS theme. It does look like the 10" rim could use some more meat as you said. Does the rear rim lip stick past the fender lip at all?

    Thanks Vseries

The lip sits just a hair outside the fender however i would assume if the suspension was fully compressed that it would tuck under. I don't usually ride with a full car so i should be safe regardless.

275's will probably rub. They checked with a vette tire/wheel combo they had at discount already mounted and it didnt look good. Mine bottoms out on the freeway while bouncing at 50+ mph (over a bridge or etc)

how does it ride with 20'' rims? I want to go with 20'' rims as well...think i have it narrowed down to the Lexani CSS-10 or the Lexani CSS-15

There's definitely room, more room on the inside (probabaly an inch+) than on the outside (nearly none), so a lower offset would probably make that possible. The rears are +40mm, maybe a +37 would give it just enough to tuck that sucker in and also not rub on the inside.

Is it possible to get a wheel shaved down 3mm? I wonder what that would cost if so and how safe/unsafe does it make the wheel?

Wow! This is the first ATS I've seen with this degree of customization. Great job! Nice wheels.

Just bought these bad boys for my ATS today. What size tires should I get? 235 35 19?

Re: Please post your aftermarket wheels on your ATS

Ok, after doing some additional research, looks like my best options are 225 35 19 or 235 35 19. The 225 are 0.2" taller than stock and the 235 are 0.5" taller? Anyone have any experience with running a slightly taller tire? Will I even notice the difference? Slightly taller might be a little better for ride comfort and mpg, but a little worse for acceleration and speedo accuracy. Thoughts?
