    2015 MY Changes

in regards to ATS MY changes for 2015

looks like Cadillac has officially put the Axe to the White Pearl color for the ATS and CTS, although it doesn't seem to be deleted from the more 'luxurious' models like the SRX, XTS or the Escalade.

Seems like there are quite a few updates.

Power tilt steering column, weight, shit to break, SLOWER to adjust I might ad. Although, it will by extension probably introduce automatic entry/exit cycling which was nice in the high bolstered seats in my CTS-V.
Charging station, because I honestly have not been in a situation to use one, need to use one, and it adds unnecessary weight. Poo-Poo I say.

looks like they've bumped the Tq up on the 2.0 by quite a noticable amount, you'll def. feel that extra 35Tq working.

How often are you changing the tilt/telescope of your wheel? I do it once and don't think I ever touch it again.

Exactly. so why does it need to be motorized? The only reason I can think that they did this is to put in the entry/exit feature.

I wouldn't be surprised if they drop the LFX at some point in the ATS's life cycle. The extra 35tq bump looks good on paper, but you'll have to drive the two cars back to back to tell a difference I'm sure. This bump is only within a small 1500 rpm power band between 3K-4.5K, which probably translates to a few tenths 0-60 too.

Just as I am about to pull the trigger on a 2014, I wish the 2015s were here! Gotta love the sweet color choices and power increase.

these are welcome changes indeed. Cadillac let the 2nd Gen CTS stangate too much when it's competitors regularly rolled out mid-cycle major system refreshes.

The additions in the 2015 MY are welcome and I hope it's something they continue on with the CTS and similar vehicles, they're certainly need it as the ATS looks to take on a heavily lightened C class, B9 Audi platform(which talks about several hundred lbs being dropped) *and* a refreshed F30.

Morello Red is my favorite interior option and is a must have for me in shopping the ATS. It looks like it will now be priced higher than the other interior options. I'm still hoping the new Crystal White Tricoat will be worth the extra charge as well. I think that combo would look great together, however I will need to see the new white paint first.

    Re: 2015 MY Changes

I absolutely HATE most changes they've made regarding the 2015 ATS Coupe....hopefully it won't follow to the Sedan, but I won't hold my breath.

    1. Eliminating the Brownstone interior....I love mine, could care less about an all black or Morello Red interior....only giving you 2 choices of interiors without additional cost....extra charges for the other two interiors..... !!!
    2. Eliminate CD player...why bother with Premium sound system when you get rid of the best high fidelity format; at least make it an option.
    3. Don't get me started on eliminating White Diamond for a plain white type of color
    4. Automatic seat belt tightening....unnecessary cost and expense for THIS??? I'll tighten my own belt!!!
    5. Suede trim...
    6. Ruined the spoiler look of the car. Like the older "light"style better.
    7. Exterior body changes....feel hot and cold about them depending on my mood

    Only positives I see:

    1. Motorized tilt and telescopic steering column. Absolutely LOVE this addition....being tall, it sure makes entering and exiting vehicle so much easier; one option I missed when I moved from my STS to an ATS.
    2. DockSpot, Cadillac inductive charging system for portable devices. Welcome to the 21st century Cadillac!! Great addition.
    3. Of course the new CUE hotspot and CUE changes.

They went backward in some areas and forward in others. Makes me glad I bought my MY2013.

    2015 MY Changes

The CD player will still be available through accessories. It's just not included as standard with the uplevel stereo, which is a good move IMO. People are so used to mp3 quality levels and a car with a bunch of glass isn't exactly the best sound stage anyway.

I'm hoping the rear high brake light spoiler is not going away on the sedan because I think it is one of the best design elements of the ATS. The spy shots of the test mules shown earlier still have it, Too bad the coupe doesn't have it.

I've never used my cd player and would be happy to get rid of it if it was possible. If you're really touchy about format, a phone with FLAC support has the same quality without taking up the physical space. However, a well ripped vbr mp3 will not have a noticeable difference in an automotive environment and save a bunch of space.

It's certainly possible, ask your SA, or you may even be able to DIY. Given it's an accessory it has to be in there with a few screws only.

    Re: 2015 MY Changes

Hey M5eater. Just noticed your in Suffolk too. I have yet to see another ATS on the road here. I did see a black ATS4 at the grocery store in IOW with CT tags a few weeks ago but none actually on the road.

Does your tag on the CTS-v say M5EATER? I thought i saw that tag before on a CT-V on the JRB once.

Oh yea, the subject is 2015 MY, where is the ATS v-sport or ATS-V?

The issue isn't physically removing it, as I'm pretty good with a wrench, its that the CUE system will not work with it removed. Someone tried it previously without luck.
