    2.5 performance upgrades or mods?

Is there any mods or upgrades such as a turbo kit for the 2014 2.5 ATS?

These cars are still very new, so aftermarket support is slow to catch on. Currently, most of the R&D is going towards the 2.0T, since it seems to be the tweaker's choice for upgrade potential. Someone will eventually look towards the 2.5L if the demand is there and the market becomes too saturated around the 2.0

OK, I have to ask.... wouldn't it have been cheaper to just buy the 2.0T in the first place than to add a turbo on the 2.5 afterwards?

The only way I could understand is if you bought the 2.5 used, but even then... still look for a 2.0T if you're interested in performance.

    LS3 swap

I haven't seen anything for the 2.5. I would not expect anything unless the motor is used in another sporty car with high production numbers. The 2.5 was not targeted to performance enthusiasts and is a small volume of the ATS market.

Bingo. The 2.5 was only really added to these cars so they could be something primo for the rental fleets (which is why they won't be putting them in the coupes). Base engines rarely see any aftermarket loving. Keep fingers crossed; someone with the skill may come along and DIY a turbo or something.

Get good tires and a performance alignment and you'll have a great corner carver.

yeah well 200HP isn't terrible the 2.5 wasn't meant for straight line blitz'n, it'll still be a riot in the corners, you still have an award winning chassis and RWD.

If powers your thing it'd be cheaper and easier to trade in for a 2.0T as most guys with 2.4SS cobalts who wanted turbo's ended up spending more to boost there 2.4's then they would have if they sold them and bought a 2.0Turbalt, they also didn't have as much power as the boost couldn't be cranked up enough without blowing shite up haha
