believe it or not , some oem brand new parts are not bad. it all depends on what your doing and where you get it from. If you search and have part numbers (a plus) you can find there is plenty of sites that sell the parts and lower than any dealer.

here is an example I hated the orange turn signals in the mirrors so I ordered new parts to modify and replace the orange with white. Which looks 1000 times better

Question...did you replace the headlight assembly for HIDs or just put in HID bulbs?

Do you have the part numbers? Just to verify, you need the LED daytime running lamps, the trim bezel and the horizontal insert.

Just wondering if its possible could you kind of explain what you used to wire all this up. Do the actual lights come with some sort of wiring harness that you tap into whatever you want them to come on with, or did you have to get wires seperate?

there's a bunch of these on car-part, which basically just parts out crashed cars and displays a nationwide database of them

specifically the upper headlight assembly, including the DRLs, except it's like $650 for each side at the cheapest...

I was able to find the lower led drl on car-part, but what search param should I use to try and find the brake duct cover and horizontal trim piece?

If you found a yard that has the LED DRL, then they should have the other parts you need. Just call them and ask. Sometimes, that whole unit of parts will be the 'fog light assembly'. They may also tell you the cover and trim are part of the bumper cover and you need to purchase the whole thing.

    Good luck.

Just picked up the OEM lights, brake duct cover and trim piece. Now...just gotta figure out how to get them installed. My main question is how to do the wiring, what did you use (splitter?) to get down to the plug on the back of the LEDs?

Could someone please turn this thread around and put together a nice writeup of the process including parts needed and steps required to complete this swap. I'm sure many will want to do this swap and so far we know you used the stock parts, but no idea if the harnesses were already there, or if splicing was required or how you even did it.

This would be really nice. It would actually be nice to have a subforum for this exact thing. Strictly for How-To write ups.

Been suggested a while ago, but nothing has happened to establish a DIY sub-forum.

Just go to a custom shop, and let them do it.
You will have to remove the front bumper off in order to install the fog light.

    ----------

in terms of the led fog light, the wiring has already been there, and you just need to order the part. then let the custom shop do it. As for the HID, you will need a relay harness.

I don't need a shop to install anything. The point of a DIY thread is to help others 'DO IT YOURSELF'.

If the wiring is already there, then why would you need a shop to install anything? You'd only need a shop if you had to splice wires and wanted to make it look professional.

So from this cryptic thread, we can deduct the following:

Stock HID headlamps, LED driving lights, Premium/Performance Brake covers will be required.
Wiring is already there for the LED driving lights.

A relay harness (OEM or aftermarket.. we don't know) will be required in order to fire the HIDs

Everything should mount up without issue.

The only variable is this harness which is required. Is this an OEM part? Or is this something needed to splice in? Do the stock headlights come with the ballast for the OEM HID light or do we get an aftermarket HID kit with harness for our Halogens? If the latter, than we would effectively only be upgrading to the proper projector housing for HID vs a halogen projector housing.
