    Remote start question..

In my Escalade when I start the car through the key fob, the car starts and the AC is blowing air before I even enter the car.

However in my ATS this is not the case, when I start the car through the remote, the AC does not switch on like the Escalade..

Any help? Maybe something with the settings that I need to change to have the AC blowing air when I start the car through the remote.

The procedure for setting this up is covered in section 5 in the manual "Vehicle Personalization"

    Re: Remote start question..

its simple really, this is a behavioral change in how the cars are programmed.

the Escalade has a fail-safe climate control mode, that defaults to 72 degrees when you remote start, so will heat if below that and cool if above that, no matter what, and returns to your settings when you actually turn the car on.

the ATS on the other hand has no such mode and simply follows the settings for when the climate control was last used. so if you turned it off and remote start the car it remains off, if you had it in auto and set to 70 degrees, it will do that.

it works great for me, but i use auto religiously, i like to set it and forget it, the only time its lets me down is when my wife goofs it all up, i need to hurry up and get her an SRX so she leaves my car alone....lol

That said, I think the old way is superior, because it accounts for times you cannot control the settings (ehem!!!...wife), just remember to set it the way you like and on auto and remote start works nicely.
