Narrowed it down..ATS Performance 2.0T AWD vs IS250 AWD F-Sport

I made a thread on this in the past but am now between these two cars. I don't need the performance advantage of the IS350 so to keep pricing close its the 250 vs the 2.0T ATS.

    The Cadillac:

    Key points
    -Leather seating
    -Older looking cluster
-Nice interior but a lot of gloss
-Cadillac App and factory remote start
    -Rain sense wipers
    -Decent power out of 2.0T
    -Solid fuel economy
    -memory seats

    The Lexus:

    Key points
-F-sport eliminates a few nice features such as memory seats, ventilated seats, and rain sense wipers
-Pretty aggressive styling and an awesome premium feeling interior
    -No factory remote start
    -NuLuxe instead of leather
    -Different driving modes
    -Awesome LFA style cluster
    -Great ride/cabin feel

Unfortunately, Lexus removed some nice features when you select the F-Sport package, but I feel like the car is much to 'ho-hum' without it.

MSRP for these two are going to be pretty similar with the Lexus coming in a few K cheaper, however when the programs for the Cadillac come out next week I am expecting to pay ~$50 less per month for the ATS than the IS, all things being equal.

exterior looks of the lexus is nice but IMO that interior just was not for me. After sitting inside one I didn't even want to take it for a test ride

The exterior of the Lexus, especially the grille, is ugly.

I like the exterior of the Lexus better than the interior. The interior felt very closed in and cramped to me when I test drove it. Also, what the heck was Lexus thinking when they put pleather in their vehicles????
Exterior, interior, and handling of the ATS are all superior to the Lexus.

ATS. HANDS.DOWN. guy at my school has that lexus, and I hate its looks, that grille looks like a bath mat. the ATS looks so much more.. Muscular, especially from the front.

The exterior of the Lexus is so ugly, I never got inside. But I am sure you are correct that the interior is even worse...

Excuse me, but please don't associate girls with a fugly car like the IS250. Girls deserve a better analogy than that (at least the nice girls do).

Re: Narrowed it down..ATS Performance 2.0T AWD vs IS250 AWD F-Sport

I prefer the interior of the IS to the ATS. However, I prefer the exterior of the ATS to the IS, but looks are subjective so none of that should matter to you.

The Lexus IS250 is just so slow. I coudn't imagine trying to merge onto the highway or pass people in traffic and really having to work for it each and everytime. If I were you I'd skip the F-Sport and take a look at the IS350 if it's in your price range.

At the end of the day, go test drive them back to back and get the car that makes you smile. That's priceless.

Please do tell, what new program did you hear about next month?

From your list, my guess handling is not as important as amenities or comfort, that favors the IS250, even though it lacks some of those features.

ATS is about a smile on your face when you attack a corner or curve. All else are just gravy.

I just heard that right now there are no programs on the 14's, that they would be coming out in oct.

Take a look at the ranking - Cadillac ATS doesn't show but Lexus IS 250 F sport is ranked 99:
