The color of the paint does not make a difference. There technically is no best wax. Use whatever you believe will give you the best protection. (I personally like zaino). Wax does not improve shine or deepness, it is only used to protect your paint. Polish is what gives the shine, clarity, deepness, etc.

If you wax regularly you shouldn't have to polish often. Polish removes contaminants and restores oils back to the paint and you need to apply a coat of wax after you polish because as a general rule of thumb, polish will remove the wax.The wax, as someone said is more of a sealant and protectant.

I have the Black Diamond Tricoat on my CTS coupe. I am constantly getting stares and compliments. I love how in will look like a regular black car in the dark or on a cloudy day, and then pop in the sun or under lights, but as someone on these forums once said, black is not a color, it's a commitment. I work hard at making sure the paint always looks great, although the Black Diamond is a bit more forgiving than Black Raven with respect to showing fine scratches and dust.

I use Meguiar's Show Car Glaze as a polish and Meguiar's NXT Gen Tech wax that has synthetic polymers that are supposed to last a bit longer. On occasion I will "top off" with Meguiar's Carnuba Wax or Meguiar's spray on Quik Wax.

Once or twice a year, especially if the car is parked outside, you may want to clay it and then re-polish and wax afterwards.

Mine is Black Diamond Tricoat also...

    BlackFire Products:

    Zaino:

    http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...m-3-6-awd.html

Both are great, in a nutshell Zaino has more reflective gloss effect (shinier) whereas the BlackFire treatment made for a deeper, darker (wet-look) effect. Hard to tell from photos, but more apparent in reality.

I've heard good things about Poorboy's Black Hole. However, it's a glaze (not a wax).

If you want it to look like it has been coated in glass and has a long lasting protection - then carpro or 22ple VX1 pro glass coating - (I ordered the 22ple VX1 pro) as I have heard nothing but great things about both - can be tricky to apply but on black it is easier than say silver where you cannot see it flash.

if you want a more traditional route blackfire black ice is a wax/ploymer combo that produces amazing results on black cars. Like drool inspiring results. It is expensive though and you can get almost as good of results using detailers pride Max Wax (another wax/ploymer combo).

If you car is new i suggest you wash then clay then polish then wax. Or if you go the glass coating route - wash, polish, ipa wipe down (50% iso alcohol 50% water in spray bottle to make sure all oils and fillers are free from paint) then use the coating of your choice. Once it cures fully you can still wax to your hearts content.

here is a lexus coated in 22ple VX1 Pro

for your wheels, you can use the same coating to coat them as the polished aluminum is coated so it will take the same coating and repel brake dust etc.

Meguiars makes a new "Black Wax" specifically made for black/dark cars. Maybe worth a try.

Wolfgang Fuzion. Nothing else compares, but it's very pricey.

I want to buy zaino polishing kit.

Need to know if the process needs a buffer or can it be done by hand?

Hand application is fine, never used a buffer with it myself.
