    1st oil change

    Took the car in for its 1st oil change at the dealership today, they also rotated the tires and the service writer said there was a recall on the hvac system, they flashed the computer, took about an hour for that, I don't notice anything different. Just thought I'd give you a heads up if you go to your dealership. 4c7e5ecf-f37f-4761-ad31-fb38dae1d48c_zps118123d1.jpg

    Re: 1st oil change

    There are multiple software updates that I'll be asking for when I go in on Monday,
    EPS, CUE, any ECU/TCM

    HVAC is likely related to this;

    Wasn't aware that there were other updates. Wouldn't or shouldn't these updates automatically come from the dealer when you are there? BTW, as you seem to be aware of updates, how does one find out about them in advance?

    Maybe GM techlink if you have a subscription and want to read through all the monthly updates.

    otherwise, you need access to GM's TSB database.

    You have to go actively searching for updates to know that they're there. Tech II can communicate & update wirelessly with the cars these days, so a lot of times they'll just run the procedure to check for updates and do so while you're in there for something else. Sometimes they don't and forget to because they're busy, or whatever.

    Re: 1st oil change

    if you ask your dealer to run your VIN to check if there are any recalls or campaigns they will plug it into GM's warranty system and any "open" campaigns or recalls will basically have to be ignored to not notice them

    the XTS has a lot and i assume the ATS has quite a bunch also given that these are first year vehicles and the increased amount of new software on these cars in comparison to previous new vehicles

    Four months, 9700 km, 16% oil life. In today for oil change and tire rotation. Also a recall came up. My build week was March 18. I asked if it was hvac and was told yes. Haven't had any problems, hope they start.
    Said no to car wash - they have the spinning brush type.
    I have very intermittent CUE screen flicker...did not mention. Don't want that taken apart unless absolutely necessary.
    9700 km = 5800 miles.

    Also, on a different subject. Mileage has been pretty good...9 litres per 100k, just over 25 mpg. Combined.
