well lets hope they do....the cadillac names used to mean something.....like STS was Seville Touring Sedan, DTS was Deville Touring Sedan. ETC was Eldorado Touring Coupe. SLS was Seville Luxury Sedan. the CTS was supposed to be catera touring sedan. but then they made a coupe and just started not changing the acronyms.

your right on this, but i think they stopped doing this with the XLR, because i remember asking a rep this same thing if "C" in cts meant catera and i got looks like i said an unforgivable word...lol

I think that was a typo. There's no other mention of it on the Internet.

probably because the ATS coupe isnt out yet. it would be awesome if they called it ATC i think. i liked it when the acronyms meant something.

I'm not really sure if STS really ever stood for Seville Touring Sedan

    DTS---D-Series Touring Sedan
    DHS---D-series High Luxury Sedan

the escalade does not really follow.

Now what it was originally was catera touring sedan, no matter what anyone says, mainly because some of the parts on '03's were stamped Catera....as i recall the underside of the front bumper has catera on it

Historically STS did stand for Seville Touring Sedan and the original CTS actually had "Catera" Stamped on certain parts. But the above is what is most typically quoted by Cadillac now.
