    Heads up display

I'm trying to figure out if the heads up display comes standard on the 2.0 premium package or do you have to have the driver assist package to get it?

Awesome. Glad to hear it. Saves me from spending over $3000 for the driver assist package. I didn't see the point in having to get it for just the electric parking brake.

the only reason you might want the EPB is if you get a manual, because the Ebrake is otherwise the old push down style by the dead pedal ie it would free up some leg room by the clutch pedal.

The Electronic brake is part of this pkg partly because its used in the front and rear automatic braking feature and the cross traffic feature that the 'assist pkg' gives you.

the reason is when both of these features stops the car, the car will set the parking brake (it can't make your leg do this).

You do get HUD with Premium but none of the other Driver Assist features.

    Re: Heads up display

Does the HUD seem blurry? I test drove a ATS in Performance trim that did not have it, but the salesman showed me the HUD in an XTS as an example. I liked it until I saw the one in a BMW 328i I test drove. The bimmer's was crystal clear. The one in the XTS seemed like my old rear projection TV just before it needed the convergence adjustment tweeked.

I need the HUD because I am 6-1 and cannot see the speedometer because the top of the steering wheel is in the way. (It's that way in most cars I drive. I have to duck my head a little to see the speed under the top of the wheel, and after a while I have a headache.)

Anyway, does the HUD look like a poorly adjusted projection TV?

My HUD seems good and clear but I did not get to test drive the BMW Heads up (only the car).

Not at all....mine is crystal clear; although of course, it's best at night..... it works flawlessly, even in bright sunshine. Probably needs to be adjusted in the XTS your drove...

Was there not a poster (maybe 4-6 weeks back?)that said the same thing and they tracked it down and found that the windshield did not have the special coating that is needed? Oh, and my HUD is great, no blur and I use it always. YIKES it was January! http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...ud-shadow.html

    Hello Maxplot,

I see people have answered your concern for you about the HUD. Like pever wrote, maybe the windshield did not have the right coating needed on the XTS you were in. I recommend testing another vehicle you are interested in for purchasing. If you are dependent on the HUD, you need to make sure it is properly functioning. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me via private message.

    Sincerely,

    Laura M.
