    Using Voice Recognition

If you tell CUE to play an artist on your media ( like the SD card or thumb drive) and it plays it. How do you tell it to stop playing that artist and go back to playing the other songs like normal. Or can you?

I'm not sure I'm understanding the question, do you want to to play on shuffle?

You have a bunch of random songs that are tagged properly, and you tell CUE to play an artist, say Cher. It will find all the songs in the random mix where Cher is the artist and play only those songs. Once it has played the last Cher song it will start over and play the first Cher song it has already played, but you don't want to hear that song again. You just want to go back to the random song list you have. Is there a voice command that will make it stop playing a particular artist without having to go back to the touch screen?

"shuffle all songs" or "play all songs" doesn't work?

No, it keeps asking for another artist and thinks play all song is Paul Simon

maybe try looking through the command list?

    Commands
Press the INFO button to enter the
    menu options, press the INFO
    button repeatedly until Speech Help
is selected or press the Speech
Help screen button. Press one of
    the following command categories
to view the list of speech commands
    for that category.

    Common Commands: These
    commands are available anytime.

    Top Level Commands: All
commands can be stated at each
    main menu.

    Map Commands: Available when
the map screen is displayed. When
    a split screen, Audio/Map, is
    displayed, the map commands are
    not available.

    Guidance Commands: Available
    when driving on a route.
    Radio Commands: Available when
listening to AM or FM stations.

    Disc Commands: Available when
a CD, MP3, or DVD is loaded.
    HDD (Hard Drive) Commands:
Available when listening to music or
audio books that are on the hard
    drive.

    AUX (Auxiliary Device)

Not there that I can find, you can say Artist, Song Name, Genre, but apparently no way to make it stop without touching the screen. Somebody at CUE development didn't think that one all the way through.

    You have CUE in a 2012 CTS-V?

the instructions I posted were from a 2012 CTS-V owners manual

I spoke with Kathryn. You cannot get out of playing a specific artist or song by a voice command. So once you've dug that hole you're stuck until you touch the screen's media icon, and then touch another song on your playlist.

    Re: Using Voice Recognition

hmm... they should fix that ... seems like a simple "play all songs" command should work

this is supposed to be Natural Language Speech Recognition after all...

You would think so. My take is anything you can get into with a voice command you should be able to get out of with a voice command.
