    navigation problem

    when im looking at the map screen of my CUE, navigation destination engaged or not, my car sometimes appears to be on different roads. and this happens VERY often. almost at all imes, my navigation thinks im driving on the streets next to me, or off-roading through blocks or even on a mountain somewhere just gunning it at freeway speeds. sometimes when i make a turn the map thinks i turned the exact opposite way and even drives in the oppoiste way for a long time until it realizes that im not there. then the map shows my true location. this makes navigation almost completely useless. gets me further away from my destination than i was before. anyone else experiencing this?

    i took delivery of my car about a month ago and the dealer got the car shortly before that. they said the CUE was already the latest version before they got the car. and they verified it too. but i havent told them about the navigation issue yet. didnt really think much of it.

    Update on the navigation problem. Took it to dealer and was half expecting the navigation to suddenly lose all problems when someone else is watching it. Lucky it didn't. Dealer confirmed the car was having GPS issues. Gave me a CTS loaner and after like 3 days it was fixed. Apparently someone at the factory accidentally put a certain gyroscope module upside down. At least that's how they explained it. Anyway they fixed it and now I'm happy.

    On a side note, they told me that in about a month, they will release roof spoilers, body kits, and a new rear diffuser. Looking forward to that.

    The navigation system on my 2015 ATS is completely non-functional. It shows no street names, does not accept voice interaction entries, and does not return spoken directions when an address is manually entered. The issue was noticed shortly after delivery (about 6 weeks ago). The dealership indicates there is currently no fix, that Cadillac is waiting for a fix from Bosch, and that "there have been issues identified in a few rural areas where this is an issue". They can offer no timeline for the fix. I am further disgusted that the sales department did not warn me (service department spoke of several instances with Cadillacs of this model year in this area), particularly since I voiced my concern at time of test drive regarding things I had read about the Cue system.
    I have a lovely, expensive car with all the technological bells and whistles, and I am forced to navigate with my cell phone. I am VERY unhappy about this issue.

    You imply that navigation works when you manually enter an address. That couldn't happen if the roads between you and the destination weren't in it's maps. And if they are in the maps, there would be nothing special about your location that would cause turn by turn spoken directions to not work. There may be some pending fix for some problems but you have more wrong than whatever that might be about.

    Sometimes dealers who have no other Cadillac dealers close by get very lax about how they treat customers. If there is any other Cadillac dealer close enough to be worth going to to fix your problem, I would do that. Otherwise or in addition, get Cadillac Customer Service involved. They can't order a dealer to do something but sometimes get results plus I'm sure the number of complaints about a dealer will have some effect on future relations between them and Cadillac.

    In-car navigation that relies on outdated static maps will always be unpleasant at a continuously increasing rate, so you might want to use your phone for turn by turn navigation over blue-tooth. Phone voice recognition is orders of magnitude better than what's in CUE, plus the maps are days old instead of years (My CUE didn't have streets that were over a year old in it on the day it was built). I still use the Nav display to see nearby roads and POIs but often use the phone's turn-by-turn navigation that also includes traffic or weather factors the in-car doesn't (without a paid subscription). And if you bought the car new, you can use the On-Star turn by turn navigation for free until the subscription runs out. OnStar has good voice recognition because you are talking to a human. I know both seem silly after paying for in-car Nav, but it is what it is even after they fix your issues. I'm just suggesting things in the vein of lighting a candle while you're cursing the darkness.

    Great feedback and much appreciated. To clarify, I don't get turn by turn instructions at all. The system doesn't recognize a voice command navigation request. If I manually enter an address, it says something like "proceed to the nearest road" and nothing after that. My next closest dealership is 250 miles away, but it may be worth scheduling a visit when I'm next in that area. In the meantime, I will get Cadillac Customer Care involved. Thanks.

    That's what I understood but I'm not clear if the Navigation still shows the turns on the screen (turn list) or not. If it doesn't, then it could be a simple as a corrupted map file. But I don't think Nav will tell you to proceed to the nearest road until you press GO and you shouldn't get an option to press GO until Nav has a route calculated which wouldn't be possible without maps. Customer Service should be able to have a CUE expert call the dealer and tell them what to do. They sound clueless.

    I agree that if it says to proceed to the nearest road, there must be a route planned. Try it again, but unzoom the screen to see the route. Also, there is an Overview tab on the bottom of the screen. That will graphically show you the whole route, and if you press the large box on the right side of the screen, it will also list all of the roads on the way, along with the mileage on each segment. If things are working but your home is not on a street in the database, it can be selected by GPS coordinates, then renamed in your favorites list. I hope that helps.

    Wow, that dealer has stocked up on their inventory of "run around". What a load of CRAP!
    It will get fixed no doubt and be as good as, well, CUE - which I can live with and I have the original 2013 version.

    You may be asking a lot of customers to have to say they prefer the dealer involved with problems. Maybe just require them acquiesce to it being a dealer they are working with.
