Ey all after 20 years of never touching a curb, of course 1 month into my lease and I somehow clipped a curb in a parking ramp. Not too bad, scraped the very outer edge, maybe a 10 inch long stretch. Any ideas what to do? Buy new rim? Can the dealer fix it for cheap? Is it something I'd get charged after my lease is up, so am I better off getting it taken care of now? Thanks for any advice.
I shuttered just clicking on this thread. Especially since I had mine powder coated.
I would get it taken care of. If you can find a reputable mom and pop shop, they should be able to repair if it isn't too deep!
I was just thinking you might want to fix it now since you might as well enjoy a fixed rim for the duration of your lease rather than be annoyed every time you see a damaged one.
Check around. Wheel repair is more common than you think and some people are pretty amazing at it. I got an out of round (wouldn't hold air either) wheel refreshed years ago from a mom and pop shop and it was like new when they gave it back to me. MUCH cheaper than paying the fee on lease return.
