I wouldn't wait, nothings gonna change model wise in may, but residuals may change and lease rates could go up.

Here in Canada the residuals just went down by roughly $800 last Monday. Incentives may offset this in May, I suppose, but I don't know.

Residuals change weekly? I guess I assumed they changed monthly with the incentives. How much worse off was your buddy?

Residuals can change any time, I suppose, however this was not a weekly change: they were at a certain level when I ordered my car 8 weeks ago, and then they actually went up about a week later, and they stayed at that number for the last 7 weeks; a few days ago they just went down to below the level they were at 8 weeks ago.

I would certainly consider that if GM acknowledges a decreasing value in the car as it approaches the end of its model year (reflected in the reduced residual), then the consumer should not have to bear the full responsibility of that value decrease: you should therefore be able to offset the front end value by some amount rather than just paying a higher lease payment that absorbs the entire loss of residual cost.
