    New ATS; paint problem

Picked up new ATS today and after further inspection found a spot on the hood. Looks like a place where some bird droppings sat and messed up the clear. Tried some cleaner and it doesn't come off. Here's a cople of photos. Any ideas on what this is?

Looks like what you thought. Its probably easy to correct with a DA. Be careful if you have the dealer do it. Usually not a problem but there are a few horror stories where a dealer made things worse or took off too much clear coat.

I'd get the dealer to buff that out, shouldn't be a big deal, but don't try it yourself, let the dealer mess with it.

At least if they screw the paint through the clear then its on them.

But yeah.. get that taken care of A.S.A.P

Definitely gonna let the dealer take care of it. Already emailed my salesman photos and requested it be corrected. It's a awesome car and a nice upgrade from my 2005 CTS.
    Thanks Guys.

I have something like that but smaller on the side of my trunk, I was going to live with it, but now I may need to take it in.

    Re: New ATS; paint problem

I just picked up my car yesterday and luckily it was a bright sunny day so I caught a couple of spots just like that on there. I had them fix it while I was doing the paperwork and also had them take of the dealer logo off the back. When he brought it back, there was a small scratch in the same spot they fixed. So had to have him take it back and touch it up...only took like 5 minutes.

I think those spots happen when bird droppings are not cleaned up right away and get cooked on. Are really bad on a black car
