    ATS versus CTS picture comparison....interesting!

Thought it interesting to show comparison between ATS and new CTS lines & stance...similarities yet real differences.

Two things that stick out in my mind when looking at these pics. First the front end of both cars looks great with the exception of the emblem on the CTS. The other is how much I don't like the rear of the CTS. First the emblem. Why isn't it centered up and down in the grill like the ATS?? Next the rear of the cars. The ATS has sharp striking lines and the CTS is more rounded and kind of funny looking. I really like the looks of the ATS and maybe its because the smaller size is more appealing to me.

When I showed the pics of the front end of the new CTS to a friend, the first thing to pop out of his mouth was "it looks like a pig's snoot!" And, unfortunately, now that this image is in my mind, that's all I see.

What's even more strange on the CTS is that they cut out a half moon shape on both front and rear chrome strips to fit the emblem in....like they made a mistake and didn't measure and align properly as you stated....

Some friends at work said the CTS front end reminded them of the predator...........think about it!

    I can't imagine that it's a mistake.

    ----------

I'm also thankful the ATS got nice exhaust and not that integrated look.

Agree about the integrated look....not my cup of tea....and I know that it's not a mistake; so why do it?

The general consensus from posts so far seem either ambivalent or even negative toward the CTS, which is ironic given the opposite feedback from the press, automotive journalists and other public feedback. I'd have to agree with them, I think the new CTS is a stunning evolution of Art & Science and without a doubt looks more refined and frankly more aggressive than the arguably conservative ATS. The fact that it shares the stellar platform with the ATS yet adds more powerful and sophisticated power train options helps launch Cadillac into a whole new league of luxury automakers. Let's hope it drives as well as it looks, and if the ATS dynamics are any indicator, it should.

I don't think it looks bad. I'm just glad to my eye the ATS looks better.

I"ll stick to my original opinion. While the new CTS looks nice I'm not a big fan of the rear and it's too big for my taste. I don't consider the look of the ATS conservative or less refined than the CTS either. I also don't really concern myself with what auto journalist and the press think about the cars I buy.

well my opinion was a joke, it does look like a stretched ATS lol.

But It looks good IMO, I never judge a car by pictures. When I saw a photo of the new malibu I almost puked lol.. but in person I really like them

I agree. American cars have to have dual, round, exhausts.

I kinda like the transition from the sharp aggressive front end to softer well sculpted rear. It's a great transition.
