Re: Thoughts on Morelo red interior

I have the morello red/CF interior and do not see getting bored with it. I get positive comments about it all of the time. I have had several black cars over the years including an 04 GTO with a red interior very similar to my ATS. Never got tired of the interior but couldn't keep the black clean for more than a day which prompted my decision to go with Thunder Gray this time.

I have the black raven / morello red interior and I love it. It is quite striking. The carbon fiber is great and much better than the brushed aluminum trim from my test drive car. I have received nice comments and do not think I will tire of the red. It is a dark rich color that contrasts well with the black.

Let us know what you decide!

I have the Thunder Gray with the Morello red and love it. The red really does make the interior special, the carbon fiber with the red highlights adds to that. I had my dealer look for this combo (along with manual trans) and he found only one in FL at the time in the Tampa area. I remember in 1960 my father showing up at our summer house on Cape Cod with a new car surprise. A black Cadillac convertible with a red interior and white top. I always loved that car. This car is a lease, but I will buy it before or at the lease end as I am very happy with it.

I love the morello red and black combo. I'm personally looking at the black diamond morello red combo. I currently drive a cts v coupe in black diamond and am still in love with the color after 18 months. It does take some maintenance compare to say silver or diamond white. I owned a black escalade once, had it washed almost exclusively at local car wash, and vowed never to buy another black car. But due to its size, I find cts v coupe fairly easy to wash by hand...and ats is even smaller. One reason I bought black diamond over the black raven is that the metal flakes really help in masking the minor scratches and swirls that usually make non metallic black cars hazy or little cloudy.
As for the red interior, as someone mentioned earlier, BMW and Corvettes have had that interior color for years. I always think they are very classy...and really pops from the crowd...crowd with distinguishing taste. : )

Re: Thoughts on Morelo red interior

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the input. I ended up going with black raven with the red interior. I would have loved the thunder grey, but none were available. The only other real option I saw was a red on red, and it just seemed a little much. The red interior just looked so much better contrasted to the black exterior, imo. I should pick the car up Tue, looking forward to many happy miles ahead, gonna be a long, long weekend

Good choice skip. I recently drove a base model ATS loaner while I was getting my first oil change and a nail pulled out of my tire. Really glad I paid extra for the premium.

rsf507, you have chosen a beauty! Black Raven with the Morello Red Leather interior is a "classic in the making!" (There are many great classics with Red Leather interiors, even Ferraris!) Cadillac has done a fantastic job with their ATS interior, especially in the Red leather trim! Congratulations & post pics, please!

Thunder Gray is my second favorite color. But my V1 was Black Raven, my V2 is Black Raven. My Town Car is black. All my cars are black.

Drive down the main drag in any city at.night in a gleaming black car? Can't beat it. Your silver, red, white shmoo pales in comparison.

If I could get red leather in my cars, in a heartbeat!

Re: Thoughts on Morelo red interior

I ordered a Black Raven with Red Morello interior, my first red interior car. We live in FL and did not want black because of the tremendous heat, and the light platinum and caramel would show dirt more easily. The Red Morello looks very sporty, and it is unique. Something you will not see every day. BMW offers a cool combo that I would have jumped at if Cadillac had it: Black Raven with Dark Brown (think of the color of an NFL football, it has a little red in it), but not like the "Brownstone."

Re: Thoughts on Morelo red interior

You all had to do it, didn't you?[/annoyed][/grateful][/conflicted]

We had ruled out the red because we didn't like it with the exterior color we were ordering. When we changed our mind about the exterior color we forgot to revisit the red interior. I had arranged to place the order over the phone but it looks like we'll be heading back to the dealer for another look at the red.

    Thanks for posting this.

Morello red rocks. Im certainly not bored of it. Im a white tri-coat guy though. Black is a PITA to keep looking clean for a daily driver and also tends to hide the finer lines of cars.

Nope. Black is easy if you know how. I would certainly consider my Town Car a DD. It gets 70k miles a year. Always spotless because it has to be. Easy enough...
