    Re: Driver's car???

When I was taking Drivers' Ed in the mid 70's, there was a teenage girl who had only driven non-power steering cars before the class. She kept expecting the wheel to come back to straight by itself, so she kept driving into the curb on right turns. Fortunately, we were in the suburbs, where there were no pedestrians, but it scared us passengers.

When I was in drivers ed, there was a boy who had to be told to turn. All the time! He was scared and waited for instruction instead of following the lines.

That drive lasted about 3 minutes. I don't know who was most frightened in that car...

Manual steering - ah the good old days. Let a Euro spec e30 323 with the quick ratio manual steering rack, no ac, crank windows, dogleg tranny, and 4.10 (I think) LSD get away from me. Now that car was fun to drive . . . not fast, but fun
