anyone has complaints on steering wheel?

Am I the only one that feel the steering wheel on ATS needs too much effort to hold on ?

Much more uncomfortable compared with the M3 steering wheel on my E46 330i. Hard to hold on to, will feel fatigue after a very short driving time.

Any thoughts about that? any good solution?

I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean. Are you saying you have to use more force than you like to steer or are you saying its too slippery or the diameter makes your fingers bend more or less than is comfortable or have your arms gotten heavier, or ????

Sorry for the confusion. I meant it is too slippery and diameter is small and the back of the spokes are there to stop the fingers from getting Ina comfortable position.
All that made the arms tired since the hand is not holding the arms

Is it just getting used to something different? How long have you had your ATS?

Gotcha. Hopefully it feels better after a while but it definitely sounds like you will need to change where you place your hands so the spokes don't get in the way of your fingers. Good luck with it.

I actually agree that the steering wheel size isn't right. In my Yukon I can drive comfortably with 2 fingers but in the ATS after a while my fingers start aching.

The way you are supposed to drive and hold the steering wheel with both hands and all fingers gripping the steering wheel evenly at the 10 and 2 position on the steering wheel. That is what I do and I have no concerns with comfort or steering effort. Did the same with my BMWs and no issues. The BMWs I have had were slightly thicker steering wheels, but that took some adjustment to at the time. Now I am used to the ATS steering wheel and I am fine with it.

Driving with two fingers is not good from a safety perspective. You need to be able to react quickly and two hands on the steering wheel allows that versus just two fingers, which I assume means one hand on the steering wheel.

Many experts now advise 9 and 3 or 8 and 4. Avoid the airbag. Personally I can rest both my elbows and hold just fine at 8 and 4.

Yeah I know those so called experts say that. But the point is two hands on the wheel typically feels better and allows quicker reaction.

Huna, I think if anything your fingers/hands must be very tired all the time with 2+ billion posts. When do you have the time to drive at all. ;-)

Re: anyone has complaints on steering wheel?

    I have two complaints:

There is a visible seam at the top of the wheel at 12:00

The steering wheel is not concentric to the steering column. It bobs up and down as you turn it.

All these years, and GM still can't make a concentric steering wheel....

maybe. I always put hands on 9 and 3 oclock. and I think that's where it supposed to be if you notice the notch for thumbs to put on.

BTW, I start to feel that, the seat and steering wheel are not center aligned, the seat seems closer to the center console. and when pressing on brake (I got 3 pedals), it's like my legs are leaning outwards to the door and my body leaning to the passenger side.
