I think I would wait till the 2017 or 2018 model year. This way they will have a chance to really make them good by then, besides your 2014 will be old by then.

Re: How Is Your ATS In Terms of Fit and Finish?

I'm extremely happy with the fit and finish in my ATS.
In the first week I had it (I've had the car for six weeks now) there was a strange squeaking coming from the dash one day.
I was quite concerned when I heard it, but it went away about two minutes later and I haven't heard it since.
So not only is my ATS beautiful and a wonderful drive, it also apparently fixes itself. hahaha

    Cheers,
    Mark

agree with the panel over the CUE, seems loose and not aligned well, - also only place I hear a rattle noise when high bass, goes away immediately when turn off vol, so think it may be the center speaker, dealer scheduled next Monday, will let you know what they find.
Ditto on the start-up, embarrassing, sounds like crud till it warms up a bit.
Ditto on the license plate bolts.
    Otherwise, very tight, very happy.

Here is a video of my ATS's seriously annoying dash creak:

It's probably the most annoying noise I've ever heard a car make.

Absolutely no issues whatsoever in our initial days of ownership - it really is a great little car.

My interior is perfect, no gaps where there dont have to be any, and where there must be gaps (obvious places like door insers) are VERY minimal, and not a single squeak or rattle anywhere

The body panels are fit tight as well, trunk gaps are even, trunk height from the decklid base to the fascia is 5mm all across. Gaps from fender to hood are all even, 3mm across each end. Doors have no vibrations when opened and the doors are all flush to the body.

Re: How Is Your ATS In Terms of Fit and Finish?

The hood of my car was slightly out of alignment with the fenders. However, dealer was able to properly align. So far, almost 6 months and 2.4K miles, no creaks or squeaks. But when getting into the car and before starting it, there is some sort of creaking sound that last for a few moments while the dash is lighting up. Could it be from the CUE computer warming up? Otherwise, car is tight and quiet without any undue/annoyning disturbances.

There is a brief noise from the CUE system but its more like a CD drive spinning up (maybe it is that). It lasts about a second and is very faint; its either not every start or can't be noticed because even the lowest ambient noise is louder. If you had a Performance or Premium I would have guessed you were talking about the adaptive light dance which I guess could be described as a low groan/creak. But that wouldn't happen when starting outdoors during the day, only in low enough light to engage the automatic headlights which would include starting the car in a garage.

Re: How Is Your ATS In Terms of Fit and Finish?

Just a follow-up from my post in December when I took delivery of the car; fit & finish is excellent, along with paint quality; no squeaks or rattles after 9 months and approximately 5000 miles; most solid car I've ever owned.

You are correct it is the CD, and as soon as I opened the glove box you could tell thats where the spin is coming from.

Re: How Is Your ATS In Terms of Fit and Finish?

mines tight as a drum fantastic quality, with 2 exceptions:

inner panel door top creaks with downward pressure, i hear it sometimes when my window is down and i lean my arm on it

rear parcel shelf rattles with certain bass notes

in both cases i've looked at other ATS cars and every one has these two noises, overall been in other supposedly high quality cars and they've been worse, so i'm very happy GM figured out how to screw things together
