I derailed it because we established the seats aren't an option and that it makes us all sad.

Very good answer. For me it may be a deal changer. The XTS is starting to look good.

Do I really need to explain why Kia can put ventilated seats in an econobox that costs less than a Cadillac?

Some people will never be happy. One thread has people bitching that Cadillac forces you to buy too many options you don't want by bundling them in packages, while in another thread people are griping that the car doesn't offer every feature known to modern man as standard equipment. I don't envy the choices carmakers have:

-Put it all in there and people moan that the base price is too high.

-Offer a wide range of packages from stripped model with only the bare necessities to fully loaded and people bitch that they have to pay extra for things they think should be standard.

-Make it a la carte and people complain it's too complicated to order.
Rest in Peace, J.D. (aka Dirt_Cheap_Fleetwood)

Re: What happened to ventilated seats?

Cadillac market research has already determined that fat people will not be buying the ATS. Hence, no need for ventilated seats since skinny people don't sweat enough to require them.

I would cry about how that statement makes me feel, but my heart can't handle the strain

I'm fat as well, and I will be buying an ATS as well...

Scratch that... I'm "fluffy", and anyone who appreciates Gabriel Iglesias will understand what I said. I'm not "DAYUM" yet.

I have them in both my STS and Escalade and really find them a marginal benefit at best. When the interior of the car is really hot they do nothing, the interior has to be rather cold for you to start feeling cool. All in all I give them a Larry David rating of "eh"......

The other issue to consider is the fact that they add a degree of hardness to the seats. I didn't think it was too bad with the Recaros. But the seats I had in my CTS4 I did not enjoy.

Re: What happened to ventilated seats?

I don't see myself buying an ATS until the hardtop power convertible V comes out, so I have between a few years and infinity to let them get ventilated seats in it.

A porn star once told me I was fluffy. I did not know how to take that.

Can't have cheese. Cheese must be kept cool.
