Newbie in town
Hello to all of you. My name is Earl and I have just within the past 2 weeks joined this site. I purchased a 1990 Allante with 72K miles. I have owned a few Caddys but never an Allante. I am somewhat familiar with them but maintenance wise I am in the dark. I am beginning to learn as I go .
I hope to soon be able to help someone on this site with their issues.
I am a retired Math Professor after 34 years I had had enough.
I am a combat wounded Viet-Nam Veteran.
I have 6 grandkids who occupy most of my time now. If I am not working on a car I am on the way to play golf or going to the beach.
I live in Hickory NC about an hour NW of Charlotte . If you are ever this way please feel free to contact me and perhaps we could have coffee.
Can someone tell me how to post pictures using Photobucket ? I am lost.

Re: Newbie in town
Welcome aboard!!! The first part to buy for your new Allante is the factory service manual and the top lowering instructions.

Re: Newbie in town
Welcome! A number of points. As already noted, do get the FSM's (factory service manuals). There are 2, the 2nd be a supplement on the braking system.
There is an Allante Club/Forum. You should join and intro yourself to that group. Here is the link:
Now for postng pics from PhotoBucket:
In the bar above the space for composing messages you will see a number of tabs. The third from the last is "Image." When you click on it a pop up window opens asking for the location of the image:
Add an Image from Url
Allowed Filetypes: jpg, jpeg, png, gif
X Retrieve remote file and reference locally
You paste the Photobucket link in the space provided. Then when your message is displayed it includes the linked image.
Hope that is understandable?
