    Question 91 Allante - Should I Purchase?

Greetings Folks. I am considering purchasing a '91 Allante w/125,000 miles. I have not seen the vehicle yet but the owner pics look swell! Also according to the owner, all service records have been kept and the engine is strong, however, the owner claims that the tranny is slipping while starting out in in first gear.

Is this a common problem for the Allante? After the first signs of transmission slippage, how many miles can I expect to drive before a major problem with the tranny occurs?

Thank you all in advance and I appreciate the forum! ... rs

Not sure that is a common problem but one that may be indicative for it's age. If you look through the threads you will see advice on how and what to look for when purchasing. Codes from the on-board DIC are helpful (presuming current owner did not delete). Inspect the car carefully.

If it is, in fact, slipping you already have a major transmission issue! Buyer beware!
