    89 allante running problems

Help, I have a friend that bought a car (ebay) wehn he got it it ran. but now it will start and run for about 90 seconds and cut off.
He said that he was in the drivers door(found the lock rod mech. unhooked and messed with it a bit. he thinks thats where the trouble started.
can you tell me where to look?
Im sure it is dead now as he has not started it in about 6 months.
he bought the car because he loved it and found a lot of minir things wrong..
abs coming on display(I would thingk this is the brake sensors..)
drivers door would not open from inside.

    Re: 89 allante running problems

The lock rod has nothing to do with the car quitting. Have the battery charged out of the car 1st. Then if it starts and then quits we need to know whether it starts right back up and quits again or will not restart. If it will not start, go back to the basics... does it have spark? does it have fuel and is the fuel pressure within spec? The ABS light coming on can be serious and expensive. Thats probably the reason the car was sold. Do a search for www.allantesource.com and do the ABS test listed on the home page. Then report back.
