    DMV high emitter profile 4100 engine

    SAL,

    somewhere around the tech area, actually i think it was in the Allanté forum, there was a 2nd thread with the same question and i am now being told there were responses that made a lot of sense ... only thing is .. it seems the thread got flushed w/o warning and all the responses went with it ....

    is this the way this site runs???? a "moderator" guy can just click and flush w/o regards to content or need ????

    i do hope the response is that this is not the way the site should run, and that was a fluke ....

    now i gotta sit back and pray and hope those people will return and repost the solutions to a serious car issue ...

    the questions DOES belong in both arenas since Allante is a very unique machine with unique engines but the solutions may in fact be same or similar to the std engines .. MAYBE ....

    i am restarting the thread in Allanté again and i hope the flusher guy shows a bit more restraint ...

    SMOG check produced following results:

    dyno test at 15 mph, 1756 rpm, CO2 14.2, O2 0.5, HC 108, CO 0.21, NO 184
    max allowed: HC = 108, CO 0.71, NO 767
    community Avg : HC 31, CO 0.10, NO 237
    soooooo ..
    car exceeds avg HC and is at the MAXIMUM - REALLY NOT GOOD ...
    car exceeds avg CO by twice,
    car is way below avg for NO

    dyno test at 25 mph, 1670 rpm (no misprint here), CO2 14.1, O2 0.4, HC 66, CO 0.24, NO 672
    max allowed: HC = 83, CO 0.58, NO 706
    community Avg : HC 20, CO 0.09, NO 199
    soooooo ..
    car exceeds avg HC and closing in to the MAX - NOT GOOD ...
    car exceeds avg CO by three times,
    car is way ABOVE avg for Nitrous Oxide - NOT GOOD .....

    Bottom line: need to reduce HC, CO & NO ...
    also car has a “DMV high emitter profile” from last owner’s smog test .. something I did not know ...

    HC= hydrocarbon
    CO = Carbon monoxide
    NO = nitrous oxide

    any and all help to change the reduce emissions will be appreciated ...
    not sure where this thread belongs, and since I need input, it is shown in two forums ...

    Thanks

    Allow me to clarify...

    I deleted one of the threads (the one in the allante forum) as you had 2 duplicate threads, which is against our user agreement.... I deleted it before there were any replies, so unless someone else deleted your other thread in the HT4100 forum, then I dont believe I am at fault....

    Im sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.....

    I checked the other thread that I deleted, and there were no responses in there..... If there is someone else who permanently deleted the posts or something like that, I will try and find it...

    last night i got a message at AAG from the GM Engineer that designed many of the components of the Allanté, relating to the engine. he states that he has posted a solution here ... but it is not here. AHHHHHH.
