I got my 89 red last fall over the winter I read all the post's on this site, from that I got, keep the brake fluid, rad. well maintained, GET a manual & enjoy trying to do the work yourself AS WELL AS THE GREAT KNOWLAGE THAT THE MEMBER'S ON THIS SITE HAVE p.s. I love the car great drive & head turner
I also have an 89 Allante and love it. If you are concerned about safety, go for a 1990 or newer model, as they added airbags to the car that year. (Driver side only) Also, stay away from any car that has the red brake light lit on the dash that doesn't go out when you are driving, as you can be in for very costly ABS repairs ($1,000+) As stated in the previous post, definitely invest in a service manual for the car, they can be had on Ebay, since when you call your local Caddy dealer for help or service they are most likely to say 'What??'
