Question Help please - 7.5 amp injector fuses keep blowing out on my 1989 Cadillac Allante

I have a 1989 Cadillac Allante and for some reason about every two weeks or so the fuel injector fuse blows, and when I replace it it will usually last for another week or so. Both injector fuses are blowing out sporadically and I can't figure out why. I did the computer diagnostic check and it didn't come up with any codes that would point me in the right direction. The car also is lacking power - it takes awhile to get up to speed, especially uphill, but once you get going it drives OK. It starts and idles smooth, I've had a complete tune-up performed. It occasionally backfires on acceleration and my muffler recently exploded with a large bang, and I've got gasoline in my oil. When the car starts to stall at stop lights or looses a large amount of power I shut the car off, check the fusepanel and sure enough, one of the injector fuses has blown out again. Any help would be appreciated.

I hope you have a service manual for your car. Hard to find this stuff without one. There is a routine that one can run in the computer diagnostic area that will check the injectors one by one. I think I would run that routine and see if you have any bad injectors.

First thing to do is visually inspect the wiring harness to the injectors. Blowing a fuse usually means a bare wire is touching metal. Any evidence of rodent wiring damage at the intake manifold area?
