    '93 Allante

I've got my eye on a '93 Cadillac Allante and was wondering if any current or previous owners had any positive or negative insight about it? Any consistent or unique problems with it?

They tend to have oil leaks. oil pan rail support. First year for Northstar! The transmission is unique to the year. Impossible parts to find for trans. The best year is the 92 as a driver. Lowest production year, most sorted out drivetrain.

Check to see if it is a V4J car. Earlier 93's were non V4J. A V4J GM used engine and trans. in other cars, but a non V4J was unique, and may be difficult to repair due to lack of parts since it was unique to those early cars only.
V4J for 1993 began around VIN PU127000, with a few numbers out of sequence. There is a tag in trunk that should list if V4J.

There are 4-5 93's for sale in my town. One has 50k miles, hardtop, asking 6k. A white one with same miles and no hardtop for $9k. I think there is only 1 for $10k plus.
