    replacing 1989 allante speaker's with ?

    the speaker's in thge 89 need to be replaced i know that they can be rebuilt but i've also read that other member's have replaced the amp's from other year's can someone tell me if you have done this and from what thank's

    The amps fail. The speakers rarely do. They are both in an enclosure (4 amps, 4 enclosures). Amps from later Corvette's, Riviera,s and Infinity's work. Some amps simply unplug from the wiring inside the enclosure, others are soldered. Your 87's probably unplug. Seek out a set of 4 if possible from around 90 to 91. They were 50 watt each instead of 25 that you have. The amp from the donor will say where to place it; left front right rear etc. it will also say leather or cloth interior. The cloth interior ones will be clearer in a leather car.
