Allante trunk leak and Bose speakers/CD

my 92 Allante has a water leak in the trunk-happens with convertible top up or hardtop in place-seems to collect in spare tire well, but padding under mat in rear of trunk is wet too-also, looking for replacement speakers for the Bose stereo and a functioning CD player if anyone has any to sell. Thanks!

Id check the seal around the trunk...... Do a search, as this seems to be quite common on cadillacs of this era.....

Cd player...... Id check ebay......

Thanks Wes! I appreciate the reply-I have only had my Allante since August and am finding that there is a strong owner base out there and lots of resources for questions and problems. I also have a 2000 Seville and a 69 Eldorado, previous daily driver was a 93 Seville, both sevilles had trunk leak problems that were fixed by Cadillac. The Allante is a fabulous car, so much so in my opinion that I am selling the 2000 Seville for financial reasons and making the Allante my daily driver. thanks again for the info. Ray Smith

Man, Id LOVE to own an allante some day..... When I get older, I wanna have the 2 modern cadillac convertibles (at least up to this point).... The XLR and the allante......

Welcome Ray,

I've been away from the board for a few days, and just noticed your post. Wes is correct about the seals needing checked. I bought some Krytox in a group purchase on the AAG site last year. Seems to be good stuff and everyone there is satisfied with it. Let us know if we can help you in any way, and I'm glad you found a nice Allante to drive. Lets see some pictures!

Thanks for the info-as we speak my body shop has taken apart the entire trunk to dry it out and re-seal it. I will attempt to attach some photos of my car-it is one of only 32 that were made in this color (metalic Burgundy)for 92 and the Allante in this color was the Indy pace car for 1992. rsmith

The speakers are ampwith speakers with each one. usually it is the capacitors that goes bad. I had a friend replace the caps on the board and they work perfect , there are also others that will sell you rebuilt ones as well. jim
