Welcome to Allante. These cars are fun to drive, but they are high maintenance. Get youself the factory service manuals. Look for them on eBay. Make sure you get the ones for your model year.

Also, get to know all about Allante Source and Dick Hussey: http://www.allantesource.com/

Welcome Fox, I too am new to Allantes and learning as I go. I took the radio out and sent it to Dick Hussey in Fla. for checking. My 1990 have 72k miles and is is very good shape except for a lot of odds and ends from sitting stagnant for a long time. I am on the road but only thru learning about things on this site. Keep looking and I am sure the answers will show up. If you like send me a message and I can send you my e-mail address and we can talk about our issues. I have yet to understand why these cars are high maintenance as the parts are from standard Cadillac engines and brakes etc. I think it maybe getting at parts that need fixing. I have found the maintenance easy so far and I have given it a tune up, new brakes, and work on the top switches. Its mostly in my opinion is the not knowing how to do certain things that make it a pain. But once you get past that its easy. At least for me. Good luck .
