Press the "OFF" and "WARMER" buttons on the climate control panel. System will go into diagnostic mode and show and current and history codes.

I have a 93 and the codes are definitely different than the 89. Here's a link to a site for a 91 code table. It shouldn't be too different for your 89:

If you need info on Allanté ABS system troubleshooting, we have a section on our website that may be helpful at . Look for the "ABS Info" section on the left menu buttons.

Yes, hold the off and warmer buttons at the same time. Continue to hold them until the climate display shows any codes. Be aware getting the codes is one thing, understanding and being able to fault trace them is quite another. I always reccomend having the Cadillac factory service manual to do this checking. knowing what each code refers to can help even the non mechanic relay info to the ultimate repairer and possibly speed up diagnostic time which could save money.
