I have looked but ,not in the right spot for instructions for removing the info tower. I don't want to mess it up so if anyone knows how to do this let me know . My car has been sitting for years and the contacts must be gunked up because nothing will reset and I cant get things to work as they should. Any info appreciated.

Re: instructions to remove the tower
Remove top center A/C vent using a dull butter knife on either side to release pins. Remove screws in behind vent. Try to pull it out. If its still secure, there are 2 10MM? nuts holding the bottom of it where it meets the center console. To gain access you remove the under dash panel below steering wheel and look in behind the tower. Find a small child to get in there with a 1/4 inch ratchet and socket or open end wrench to remove them. Slide out D.I.C Most mechanic's don't reinstall the bottom nuts on reassembly.
The service manual has pretty good instruction on how to remove the tower. Its just spread over the different components that need to be removed. The first thing to do is put your fingers in the tape slot at the bottom and pull out. If its loose you only need to remove the top vent and two screws.
If you need to remove the two lower bolts I used my 3/8' drive air ratchet. The problem is that there is no room to get much movement on the bolt with a tool. The air ratchet solves that problem. DO NOT PUT THE LOWER BOLTS BACK IN ONCE REMOVED. The tower has to come out all too often to deal with the two lower bolts again and the tower sits in there quite well without them.
Firstly take down the hush panel from under the dash. Then you will need to remove the hush panel from beside the park brake pedal. Remove the hood release lever. Then on the right side of the footwell, remove the small panel that runs beside the accelerator pedal. Now remove the four bolts, two each side, and two screws at the "rear of the panel", and lower the knee bolster. You will then be able to see/access the two 10mm hex bolts right under the tower.
