It is on the left-hand side of the radiator in front about three or 4 inches down

It is in the radiator, but not all of them have it, when I replaced the radiator in my 88 last year, I was never able to find a replacement with the provision for the sensor, so I had to install the new one with out it, and the low coolant message can't be turned off on the dash in the phase ones (AFAIK)

On a 93 I once owned I had to replace the BCM or the PCM (can't remember which right now) to get the low coolant message to stop.

Re: Anyone know where the low coolant sensor is located?

Low coolant sensor message - no problem. We resolved it on our 1989 today. The radiator in the car must have been replaced, because there was no insert for the sensor in the radiator. After inspecting the sensor, I noticed that there was only one line going to it. Because the end of the sensor was supposed to be in the radiator in contact with fluid, we decided that the lead to the sensor was positive and that the sensor completed the circuit when in touch with radiator fluid. I removed the sensor from the line and grounded it. The message goes away. Should be no big problem, as the engine temperature should skyrocket and cause many warnings if the radiator ever gets low on fluid.
