Allante' Will NOT shift 2nd to 3rd gear & 3rd to 4th gear!!!

My allante' will shift from 1st to 2nd gear BUT no further shifting happens. Stays in 2nd gear forever!
Was told it was the shift solenoids. Purchased both solenoids in a 'GM shift solenoid kit' and took it to my local repair shop.
Was told at the shop that it has NO solenoids and that the trans would have to be rebuilt. Took the car home!
    Isn't it the 440t4 transmission?
The shop guy told me it was the 4t60e transmission and it is computer controlled and NOT solenoid controlled. I'm confused. What gives?
It worked fine until the 8 injectors were changed. Then, the 'no shift' problem. Before this it has always shifted fine. Could it be a vacuum line? Need help!

It's not a 4T60E & it's not a basic 440T4 either. It's a solenoid controlled 440T4. Most trans shops don't know since they never saw one. It's been years for me. The last one that I saw had a plain 440 in it with a check trans message.
Probably not a solenoid issue. 3rd gear is solenoids off. Unplugging the connector should put it in 3rd. If it doesn't, probably a clutch issue.

Did it ever work after the injector change?
Check the cable & vacuum since I believe it has both, although I don't know why it has solenoids, too. No vacuum should make it shift hard.

It has a short cable ( TV cable) from the drivers side of the trans up to an anchor on the throttle body. If that cable is disconnected, out of adjustment it might take forever to shift. It also has a manifold of vacuum lines ( 5 or 6 hard metal lines with a short rubber plug) at the throttle body. If that is disconnected it might affect shifting. This is on the assumption the upper intake was removed to r/r the injectors.
