I just bought an 93 and found that when I drop the top or raise it the weatherstrip on the rear window bottom hits the pulldown motor. It is craked and needs to be replaced. I have a few questions; 1. can this part be made? 2. Does anyone know where to buy one or have a GM part number? 3. can the motor be adjusted so that it does not hit or is this a design issue? Thank you.
Any vehicle of this vintage is going to have rubber that is either cracking or just drying out! That why Tom Rohner of the Allante Store in San Diego has all of the convertible top rubber and weather stripping manufactured. I just bought the rear window bottom weather from him, and it fit "PERFECT!!!"
I recently came into a '93 myself. Any answer of how NOT to have the top rub the motor? Also, any tips for installing the rear window lower weather strip?
never mind got it, had to take off the bottom bolt holding the top down on one side enough to get the seal on the groves on the botton of the rear glass then slide it all the way to the other side ! works like a champ ! next is leaks around the top of the windshield corners on both sides ! yee haw !
