    Successful Paint Job

Wanted share a success story repainting the door pulls, door armrests and center console on my 88 Allante. Used SEM paint, color Napa Red. It was easy to apply and a good match. Parts that were painted look like brand new. Interier looks better than it has in years.

Think this would work on a worn dash in 1992?

I understand the SEM paint works well on non-flexing upohlstry surfaces , but quickly deteriorates when used over creases that have to flex such as seating surfaces.

I believe the SEM coating would work well on a worn dash and will be trying that myself. Make sure you use the products they sell to remove wax and greases. They make a couple of different ones. SEM 38343 Vinyl Prep and 38354 Plastic/leather prep are the products. Their web site tells how to use them. I would agree that seats would probably not be a good application due to the movement and wear factor.

Painted the dash today (horizontal flat surface) and it looks great. Used lots of tape and paper to avoid overspray. Looks like new. Got one of those triggers to go on the spray can. Gives you much better control and avoids tired finger...Hopefully it will stand up, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Not sure how to "resize" photo. The files are bigger than 800 x 800.
