If after opening the door and touching the power lock button as you exit the car, the paddle should move, locking the doors after it shuts. If the paddle moves, then something is either disconnected or out of adjustment. The rod that goes to the paddle is threaded. That allows you to either lenghten it or shorten it. I believe thats where the problem lies.

No, my mechanic replaced my AC compressor (thinking that was the cause of the AC problem) without removing the engine.

Re: Door locks?

I have a problem with the passenger side door on my 87. The door latch dosen't allow the door to close fully. It's latched but the door isn't fully closed. I tried to loosen the latch to adjust but the allen bolts are extremly tight. I also found the flipper ahead on this door, the drivers door the flipper is back. How does one adjust the door? What is the flipper used for? What size are the allen bolts?

Thanks
