1992 turn signal indicator

on a digital cluster, when signaling right or left, the cluster blinks what seems to me the emergency signal, right/left arrows together.

is that normal?

That's the way it works on my '90. I've owned two '90's, phase 1 and 2 and both worked that way. It's a little odd, but I think it's normal.

The reason for this change from earlier models was that starting in 1990, traction control was added, along with the SIR (airbag) system. To free up a spot for those indicators, something had to go. Low fuel was one and combining the two directionals into one indicator was the other. Interestingly, if the Allante's had continued, the were plans in the works to separate the arrows back into two individual indicators, one for each side. We ended up with a few brand new clusters with some NOS parts I bought. The part numbers were different than the '93 clusters. When plugged in to a '93 Allante' everything worked fine. Among the changes I noticed were the directional signal arrows each having a separate indicator as on 1987 through 1989 models.

Its probably in the owner's manual that i have yet to read .. if i get time ... !!!
