    Headlamp/Windshield washers

My headlamp washers have suddenly stopped working, though the windshield washers are o.k. Does anyone know if there are two separate pumps for these systems?

    Thanks for any input.

Hi David, Yes, there are 2 separate pumps, and from what I recall, one of them is hard to find, the other isn't.. don't know which one is the tuffy to find though.. , I think they are both right there in your washer fluid bottle.. but again, going by memory here, and that ain't always entirely reliable, but I wish you luck getting it all back to normal again..

Please list the type and year of car you own in your signature and profile. I can only assume you have a Cadillac and it happens to be an Allante?

I needed room to mount some electronic equip so my windshield wiper reservoir had to go.

the windshield pump is just under the reservoir, and i believe the other is by the headlights.

its the best i can give you from memory.

ADVICE: anyone owning an Allante should get a Factory Service Manual. When you need to work on it, no one in your town will have one. cost $30 to $85, depending on how good a buyer you are.

Here is one for $48 ..

That happens to all of us.

I got the complete set, '87 to '93 and sure looks impressive on the bookshelf.
Now, if just start opening them .. but ..

The Headlamp Washer doesnt' work on my 87 Allante'. I pulled the pump and it doesn't work. I checked to see if it was getting power and it is. Has anyone taken one of these apart and tried to clean it?
