allante hardtop weatherstripping

i have found at the auto parts store some weatherstripping that sealed up all my air and water gaps in my hardtop.it is a round black putty like weatherstrip.i put it on the windsheild header all the way to the moveable windows and on the bottom rear side of the top where it meets the boot.i don't know if i have to reapply it after the top comes off but man did it seal my top quite well.

Is it made specifically for the Allante or can it be used on other applications?

Hi LC,
This weatherstripping is universal.it can fit many applications.it is soft but firm and you can place it to build up trouble spots.i have found that the header and around the faux vent windows are the main leak spots and usually need a little help to keep the wind and rain out.hope this info helps out.

this stuff was purchased at discount auto parts and it's called 3m windo-weld,ribbon sealer.it was designed for windshield installations but i think it can be useful for sealing our hardtops if you have that problem.like i said it is a 3/8 round soft putty like caulk.you can use your imagination for stopping your air and water leaks.i will watch mines and see if it performs the way i want it to.

i have been using the trial and error method with the weatherstripping for my hardtop but now i think i have finally found the right product.it is called hardtop weatherstripping.it can be found on jcwhitney.com for $31.99 plus shippng.i haven't tried it yet but i am going to order it. this really looks like the best product yet to fit our hardtop weatherstripping needs.take a minute and go to the website and let me know what you all think of this product cause i think i finally found a winner..
